    Linux /dev/mapper – remove entries 

    I recently had a linux distro that upon losing all members of a Volume group in LVM didn’t allow me to recreate the volume group with the same name as /dev/mapper/volume_name was still present.

    vgscan was complaining like this:

    Linux software raid 

    Create raid level 10 out of 10 disks, /dev/md0:
    -C create
    -v verbose
    -l10 raid level 10
    -n10 10 members

    View raid status:

    Save current md status:

    If you lost your raid array after reboot:
